My son is turning three in about three weeks. He's been BEGGING me for the Grand Theft Auto video game, and I am not sure if I should buy it for him. British Museum in London will display the original excavates of the Terracotta Army from China at its premises in an exhibition between September 2007 and April 2008. The worthwhile exhibition of Chinese master creations will get a feel of foreign lands outside their native mainland China for the first time since its inception more than 2000 years ago.
The Terracotta Army refers to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. These famed figures of historical significance were discovered in 1974 near Xi'an, Shaanxi province by local farmers drilling water well to the East of Mount Lishan. Archeological investigations further revealed the site to be serving as the imperial burial ground to the First Emperor of the Qin dynasty and his army to help the celebrated Emperor rule afterlife. Qin Shi Huangdi is the First Emperor and an acclaimed name in unifying the Chinese Empire for the first time in the history of China. He lived around 220 BC and is also regarded one of country's most ruthless rulers. The material used to create and construct the terracotta figures was taken up from Lishan. The distinctive collection of 8099 life size and very realistic figures of warriors and horses were excavated underground and are located near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. The site is officially classified and currently inscribed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site and is popularly called the Eighth Wonder of the world.
Background
The construction of this massive monument and world heritage site completed in 38 long years began in 246 BC took up the services of 7 lakh workers and master craftsmen. The first Qin Emperor was interred inside the tomb complex upon his demise in 210BC amidst the embellishments of huge treasure, beautified ceiling adorned with gems and pearls giving a look of the cosmos adorned with heavenly bodies. The flowing mercury represented the life supporting water bodies. The excavation and scientific research studies has revealed the presence of substantial quantity of mercury in the soil of Lishan, pointing towards the authenticity of the description of the site as mentioned in the exemplary works of great historian Sima Qian. The imperial cemetery also termed as necropolis was built with the intension to continue with the Empire and the eternal rule of the Qin Shi Huangdi preceding his death, the terracotta structures in wooden enclosure represented the entire set up in terms of infrastructural luxuries, palace, warriors, army and other services required by the emperor while executing his orders from the heaven afterlife. The compound with imposing gateway entrance is complete with several offices, halls and other structures. The terracotta army signifies the security system to protect the imperial palace and their Emperor. Interestingly even the remains of the craftsmen working in the tomb have also been excavated from the necropolis, presumably to prevent pilferage of any imperial information to outside amongst the masses.
The Terracotta army is a phenomenal archeological discovery and an icon of the China's past recognizable world wide. It is visited and appreciated by nearly two million people who visit the site annually of which one fifth are the foreigners.
The tomb of the First Emperor lies in the vicinity of an unsealed earthen pyramid 76meters tall and in the circumference of 350 sq meters. The area around the tomb was proposed to be sealed with a special tent to prevent its corrosion from exposure to outside air. This building of this special type of tents is the monopoly of one company in the world and unfortunately even their largest structure is incapable of sheltering the site as per the requirement. The tomb is a testimony to the power and the creative mindset that the Emperor possessed while ordering such a monumental undertaking. His cherished desire to display his unparalleled military achievement and retain the reigns of power even after his departure from the earth is well exhibited in this master work.
Terracotta statues
The terracotta statues are life like and life sized and their physical attributes armed with weapons are tailor made in consonance with the ranks and positions of the said figure. However the weapons were stolen immediately after construction and the color has faded with time. The figures were constructed in the manner of assembly line system in the government workshops as well as by the local craftsmen. Each part was manufactured in mass production and re-assembled and subjected to fire treatment subsequently and then placed in pits of different types of moulds prepared in advance in precise military formation in accordance to ranks and duties.
There have been reports of the pottery warriors being infected by fungal moulds due to raised temperature and humidity as a result of breaths of tourists. The South China Morning Post has reported the figures have been oxidized grey and distorted due to exposure by air. Another journal Daily Planet Goes to China, reported that the pollution and soot from nearby coal burning units is capable of decaying the terracotta material.
The noted Historian Sima Qian has mentioned the evidence of destruction by fire of the wooden enclosure that housed the Terracotta Army. The fire burning the army snuggled for three months. The tomb was raided by General Xiang Yu in less than five years of the death of the Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi with the intension of looting the riches of the tomb and setting the royal cemetery ablaze. Despite this remains of the structures of the Terracotta army in various stages of preservation retain their original grandeur and splendor of their regal past.
A replica of this historical monument is erected in the Forbidden Gardens, a privately funded museum in Katy Texas sponsored by a Chinese businessman to show case to the world the grandeur of his country's distant past.

when i play dynasty warriors 5 i seem to be having the same problem every time , how do you add more officers and how do you add lieutenants. i can only recruit people after i have captured them but i have my generals space full and cant put anyone under lieutenants and when i do the whole search-local i always get the message there is no-one to employ.
also when i start the campaign "A Gathering Of Hero's" i seems to only be able to add 3 of my created people and no one else when the AI's have like 6 people
please can someone help as im trying to get xbox 360 acheivements and getting no where

you can put liutenants as generals and liutenants. Generals can only be generals.
You can hire people by using the other searches, such as search-wide and recruit. Dont use search-local, it only searches for free officers in the areas you own. Recriut is the best, it gives you a list of people, you choose one that will join you.
You basically start of with no one, so it forces to play "Yellow Turban Rebellion" However once you have hired someone and saved, they can then be chosen to be one of your starting generals/liutenants.
Liutenants are basically the clones of the game. The officers with a self portrait that is different from the others are generals.

They made it to the league as an expansion team in 1993. In the same year they drafted Paul Kariya in the very first round of the NHL Entry Draft. In the next season, owing to the NHL CBA’ s final year and NHL labor dispute looming ahead, the Ducks were weighed down with low attendance at their games, in spite of their recent good performances. They were unsuccessful in making it to the playoffs.
In the 2004 season attempts were made for a sell out but things did not work out owing to a very low offer that was even less than the whole franchise’s worth. Although many well-paid Mighty Ducks players made press conferences and confirmed the team as being financially secure and unaffected by the NHL’s monetary situation.
The following year, Henry Samueli of California bought the team at a net price of $75 million, who vowed against its relocation from Anaheim. Brian Burke who was a former president for the Vancouver Canucks, was selected as the Duck’s general Manager and Executive Vice President in 2005.
The month August in the same year saw the appointment of Randy Carlyle as the new coach, which made him the seventh coach for the Mighty Ducks in the franchise’s history. He had replaced Mike Babcock, who had departed as the Ducks coach in favor of the Detroit Red Wings. Carlyle also coached the Manitoba Moose, a member of the AHL, after he had served as the assistant with the Washington Capitals. Further, he was a member of the staff of the Winnipeg Jets. His tenure with the Manitoba lasted from 1996 to 2001.

I am willing to donate 30 cents to the Obama 2012 campaign if he would be kind enough to adopt a kitten under his wing instead of the preferred descendent of wolves that leave nothing but ticks and fleas on the White House Carpets. From my gracious 30 cents donation I would not be looking for any type of kick backs or under the table money laundering, even though I plan to be running a nonprofit kitty litter company around the same time the next election will be taking place. The do not see any other choice because they do not see anything in the future that can control world populations. They have already created the Aids virus and successfully depopulated the male gay populations and blacks of Africa. These people are by far the strongest group and represent government, military, business, scientists throughout world governments.
This genetic engineering camp for depopulation of Earth completely controls the genetic engineering and vaccine research in the world. This camp is manipulating the public through the media to accept a mass vaccination program of flu vaccines to counter a possible super virus. But this camp has actually already created the super viruses which slowly compromise the immune system and kill either slowly or quickly whichever they choose. They are responsible for the second great holocaust genocide of the homosexual community and blacks in Africa which is going on today. And they are planning for a massive depopulation of Earth very soon through the use of all vaccines but especially the mandatory flu vaccines.
The second camp is for voluntary methods of population controls such as birth control, education, and economic upliftment which has been shown to be successful in the developed nations of the world who now have stable and some declining population figures. This voluntary group for population control has been been excluded from participation in the genetic engineering camp because their psychological profiles show they are untrustworthy and would not keep their world vaccine depopulation programs secret. But the second camp does provide economic support unknowingly to the depopulation camps through their donations for research, drugs, and vaccines.
The third camp of population control is the general public which has largely been excluded from the debate of overpopulation issues since the 1970s when Paul Ehrlich popularized these issues as part of the Earth Day movement. The third camp of the general public is largely clueless of these issues and has been purposely excluded as too ignorant and uninformed of these issues to decide for themselves. The general public is fearful of possible secret dealings and is becoming increasingly paranoid of their own governments. And the general worldwide public is becoming alarmed by the mass mandatory vaccination programs being now forced upon them.
The genetic engineering camp has recently successfully made the billionaire leaders and financiers of the voluntary camp for population control the scapegoat of their planned mass genocide of Earth through their flu vaccines. They were encouraged to meet in NYC through third parties and discuss these world population and other pressing world issues and then it was leaked to the press. And their ongoing funding to many world vaccine programs has linked them to vaccines in the general public mind.
There are two bright spots in all of these secret overpopulation dealings. It is micro loans and 2012. Micro loans to lesser developed countries are a very effective economic equalizer and stabilizer of countries. It is a gift that keeps on giving permanently. There is a 95% payback of loans in some countries and so the programs continue to expand and grow year after year and reach an ever expanding population. The people become engaged in uplifting themselves out of poverty and soon become better educated. Most all foreign and private aid should now become micro loans to the poorest of peoples of the world. Then the money goes directly to where it does the most good and the rich and powerful leaders can not use this money for themselves but they are also eventually benefit from it. Micro loans stabilize countries and ends violence, overpopulation, and ignorance which is created out of poverty, lack of education, and economic despair.
2012 is the second great bright spot. The sun will be in its most active phase in December 2012 when the planets align. Then massive coronal mass ejections from the sun could destroy all electronic and electrical devices on Earth and send mankind to living in a 19th century existence for many years. Pollution will end overnight and the Earth and mankind will have a second chance and more time to get right the many environmental problems of Earth and end mankind's harmful technologies and practices. Many people will die at this time if they are not helped by others from many nations. The world will have to revert to a vegetarian diet to save billions of people from starvation. And all the world's armies war making ability will be destroyed in one day by the Hand of God from the Sun.
God and Mother Nature seem to have joined hands to assist mankind now in this time of great need. Hopefully we will make it to 2012 without Arab terrorist exploding their nuclear bombs in American cities and the vaccine makers of death depopulating the Earth needlessly out of fear for mankinds future. We have, in this country, an understanding of the power of force, the power of weaponry and of technology, the power of threat, the power of manipulation, but little if any understanding of the power of gentleness.
Force, weapons, threat, and manipulation all involve aggression - the utilization of the assertive, masculine side of the human psyche - not just the psyche of men, but the psyche of all souls in their embodied expression. The impulse to act, to assert, to move forward, to take charge, is part of this masculine aspect, an aspect which only becomes problematic when it is not sufficiently balanced by the feminine side - by the desire to unify, blend, harmonize, and seek cooperation.
Assertiveness and aggression are what marks governmental policy in certain eras, and also to a significant degree, defines the ways in which the public evaluates candidates for public office. Though little spoken of, the reliance of trust in public figures, despite America's desire for peace, is often trust in their capacity to make war, their capacity to be aggressive, their capacity to exercise their will, which, according to some interpretations, would be equal to the capacity to protect the nation from harm.
Along with this stance go certain body characteristics that in today's consciousness convey to the public the same impression of power and strength - square or broad shoulders, a firm jaw, a neck that is broad, but not too broad, proportional rather than elongated. These convey an overall impression of sturdiness.. Slim or narrow shoulders, an elongated neck, a small head, a soft, pointed chin rather than a square jaw - these are the characteristics associated with gentleness, with the capacity to be wrong, with softness, which in some interpretations is equivalent to weakness.
America desires peace, but is unwilling to seek that quality of peace and gentleness in her leaders. She fears aggression from without, and therefore seeks leadership that can embody a counter-aggression force in the face of potential threat. Beneath this preference is the belief that only might can sustain us, and that it is necessary to remain in the position of global dominance in order to insure safety.
If one were to take away commitment to this premise, however, if one were to no longer accept it as valid, where would that leave us?
It might leave us understanding to a greater degree both the value of cooperation and the value of gentleness - a quality that does not lack firmness and whose strength is inner, rather than outer.. It might lead us to understand how to value our uniqueness and the spiritual truths which lie at the foundation of this nation' and are part of her heart. It might steer us away from associating America's identity with power, while leading us toward compassion in relation to the world community..
Beneath the external overlay of power and aggression, America's heart remains wedded to the principles that are part of her founding. If one were to take away the need for dominance, there would still remain the capacity for leadership, but such leadership would be a moral leadership, based on the fundamental and universal premises, applicable to all peoples, of man's right to live freely upon the earth. There would also be the possibility for those to hold public office who represented not the capacity for dominance and assertion, but the capacity for negotiation and cooperation.
Such is the time that we are moving toward, for it is essential that all nations come together with a sense of the uniqueness of each and the equality of all, not just as a concept, but as a living, breathing economic, political, and social reality. Within this human family, America would no longer play the role of 'superpower' or overlord, but would finally have the opportunity to express her true potential as a catalyst for change and as a champion for the improvement of the human condition. Her allegiance to the principles of light and truth would be held as a powerful illustration of what is possible when the welfare of all, and justice for all, are the cornerstones of a nation's identity.

What Christmas special featured a dark demonic overlord type of figure ?
I remember a demonic figure in a christmas special from when I was younger but can't remember what show it might have been. I just remember this dark in color scary figure. It seemed to be kind of mythical in nature, and it seems like it may or may not have been able to appear out of thin air. Am I remembering wrong?
